We have been approached by responsible Manufacturers
at home with aview to establishing a regular seaplane service
between Hongkong and Shanghai. It is estimated that the journey
will occupy eight hours and there will be one stop en route at
Foochow

In order that the scheme may be thoroughly gone into
our London representatives have requested us to supply them with
information on certain subjects.

What would the Hongkong Government be prepared to pay for
the regular transport of Mail between the porte mentioned.
It is desired to have an authentic report on the Weather
conditione prevailing throughout the year especially with
regard to fog and typhoons that would be encountered by
such an air service. As the Royal Observatory may be able
to supply some useful information on the subject we shall
esteem it a favour if you will be good enough to obtain
from the Director any particulars he can supply.

We wish to know what attitude the Hongkong Government
would adopt toward this proposed service and if any
restrictions would be imposed with regard to making
Hongkong Harbour the starting point and terminus, if s0
desired, or any other of the waters of the Colony.

might be more suitable.
